Sweet success of the Revolution

A Yorkshire drinks entrepreneur is celebrating after being awarded the ‘Most Original Product’ accolade at the recent Taste Trade Awards in York.

Jane Nicholls founder of Wetherby based Sweet Revolution who produce a range of free-from hot drinks with a twist, received the award at the event earlier this month.

After seeing a gap in the market for the on-trend treats, Jane launched the business producing the healthy, but super tasty, lattes and hot chocolates.

Jane said: “Free-from products have soared in popularity over the last few years as we’ve become more educated about food intolerances and trends. Whilst there are plenty of food and cold drink options on the market, there wasn’t much on offer for those wanting a frothy latte or hot chocolate.”

Made from organic and natural ingredients, the Sweet Revolution range includes a hot chocolate made with raw cacao, matcha (the famed Japanese green tea) and reishi (a type of healthy mushroom) lattes, all of which have been praised by critics and customers alike.  However, it was the Turmeric Latte that wowed the Yorkshire based judges at the recent awards and went on to collect the title of ‘Most Original Product’.

Jane continues: “Turmeric has shot to superfood stardom over the last few months as its health benefits have been uncovered and our Latte cleverly combines the spice with unrefined coconut nectar, coconut milk powder and a touch of cinnamon and black pepper, to create a deliciously frothy hot drink and giving you a taste of the tropics!”
