Thixendale business expands into the South East with family appointment

Award winning Wolds business, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, has strengthened its team with a key sales appointment.
Zoe Palmer, sister of Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil founder, Adam, has joined the team to develop sales of the Thixendale business’s oils, dressings and Yorkshire mayonnaise in London and the South East of England.
The Thixendale products are selling well in the capital and Zoe has already secured listings in Limone Fine Foods in Highgate, Earth Natural Foods in Kentish Town and L’eau a la Bouche in Broadway Market. She will also be attending Farmers’ Markets in Haringey, Spitalfields, Alexandra Palace and Bermondsey Square.
Of the listings, Zoe said: “I’m really pleased with the progress so far. Sales of rapeseed oil are buoyant as people are becoming increasingly aware that cold pressed rapeseed oil contains only half the saturated fat and 11 times the amount of omega 3 essential fatty acids of olive oil. In addition, its nutty flavour and high burn point make it a versatile oil for all sorts of culinary uses from baking to frying and from roasting to dressing.”
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by Adam and Jennie Palmer on their family farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. They now produce a range of oils and dressings based on their award winning rapeseed oil that is produced exclusively from home and Yorkshire Wolds grown rape and hand blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm.
The oil is used in Michelin starred kitchens, including the Pipe and Glass at South Dalton, and all products are preservative, GM and gluten free and are suitable for vegetarians.
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil products are also available at farmers’ markets, farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire.
