The Countryside Alliance have unveiled the names of the 2025 North of England finalists for their annual Awards.
A celebration of rural businesses that go the extra mile and support their local economy, this year’s finalists include a number of businesses from our region including Skipton based butchers Drake & Macefield in the Best Butcher category, Acorn Dairy in the Best Local Food/Drink category, and Town End Farm Shop from Airton in the Yorkshire Dales, who are shortlisted for the Best Village Shop/Post Office.
Now in their 18th year, the Awards look to shine a light on businesses supporting their community and championing local goods and services.
Thousands of nominations from around the country are received each year for the prestigious awards, which are then carefully whittled down to form each of the regional shortlists. These businesses are then put into an online public vote to determine the winners for each category.
Voting is open now until midnight on Sunday 6th April, with this year’s champions announced via the Countryside Alliance website and invited to a special Champions’ Reception at the House of Lords on Wednesday 18 June.
