A Dales based gin producer are celebrating a successful first year in business after being awarded three prestigious industry awards.
Whittaker’s Gin, based near Dacre Banks and run by husband and wife team Toby and Jane Whittaker, were awarded silver in both the London Dry Gin and Packaging categories at the 2016 International Wine and Spirits Competition along with a bronze medal for their Design and Packaging at this year’s International Spirits Challenge.
The new accolades come hot on the heels of several other awards and achievements that the Yorkshire firm have collected over the last 12 months including coming 2nd in the Craft Expo London Best European Gin 2015 and being awarded a bronze medal at the prestigious Harpers Global Design Awards Label for their distinctive bottle design.
Expansion has also taken place over the last year to keep up with demand and the family businesses now operate two 300 litre stills at their craft distillery at Harewell House Farm.
Toby Whittaker said: “We are a family business and our aim is always to strive for excellence in genuine ‘craft’ gin production. The last 12 months have seen us expand production and win some fantastic awards. We’ve got some exciting plans for the year ahead and are looking forward to launching some new gins on the market in the Autumn.”
Whittaker’s gin is available nationally at Majestic Wines and throughout the region in bars, restaurants, independent retailers as well as online at www.whittakersgin.com
