Winter Wildlife Walks Open Day

Continuing with their annual series of wildlife walks, an East Yorkshire Bakery are to set host an open farm event this month in partnership with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust

The free event at Side Oven Bakery, based at Carr House Farm in Foston on the Wolds, is aimed at families and will take place on Sunday 30th January.

Owner Jessica Sellers said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the farm this month and are really excited to be teaming up with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust who will be able to give everyone an insight into the vast array of wildlife living on the farm.

“Our on-farm events are always really popular, and we love welcoming visitors from around the region and beyond. We’re based in such a beautiful part of Yorkshire and it’s lovely to be able to share our surroundings with visitors as well as introducing them to the bakery and our range of products, many of which are made using ingredients grown here on the farm.”

The day will include guided wildlife walks hosted by Jon Traill, Wildlife Expert at the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust who will take visitors on a trail around the organic farm on which the bakery is based.

Taking approximately 1 -1 ½ hours, the walks will cover around 2 miles and give visitors an insight into what wildlife lives amongst the fields and woods in the Yorkshire Wolds.

Meeting at the Bakery, the walks will set off at 10.30am and 1pm, with a shorter woodland walk on a stoned track without a guide also available to complete on the day.

As well as the guided event, the Bakery will also be open serving hot refreshments and their range of award-winning speciality breads, croissant and much more.

Well behaved dogs are welcome and pre booking is required via the website.
