Yockenthwaite Farm sponsor charity Atlantic rowing team

An artisan granola producer are sponsoring charity rowing team Wavebreakers, who are competing in ‘The Worlds Toughest Row’, crossing the Atlanitic.

Based in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Yockenthwaite Farm are proving granola to power the female crewed vessel in their bid to complete the 3000-mile journey, racing from the volcanic shores of San Sebastian de La Gomera in Spain to Nelson’s Dockyard in Antigua.

Rowers Bobbie, Hatty and Katherine are hoping to raise £140k to help protect those on the frontline of the climate crisis including vulnerable animal species via the WWF, as well as displaced refugees, with every donation doubled by the Vodaphone Foundation up to their target.

Their boat Flo has been built to withstand the rigours of an ocean crossing and the team have completed almost two years of training and preparation to get to this point.

Yockenthwaite Farms owner Liz Hird said: “We’re incredibly proud to be one of the Wavebreakers team sponsors and are delighted that our granola is helping fuel them as part of their amazing journey.”
