An East Yorkshire based poultry business has won new business from a long established fresh food specialist and wholesaler.
Middleton-on-the-Wolds business Soanes Poultry now supplies a range of its award winning whole and portioned chicken and offal to Danish Crown owned Leivers Brothers.
Nottingham based Leivers Brothers has been supplying meat and poultry to independent fresh food retailers throughout the Midlands and beyond since it was founded in 1880.
Carolyn Pennock, Head of Sales and Marketing at Soanes Poultry said the company is thrilled to be supplying the family run business: “Leivers Brothers ordered our Christmas Cockerels for the first time last year and were so impressed with our quality and customer service that they have continued trading with us.”
“Leivers Brothers have a great reputation within the industry and we are delighted to be working with them to get our chicken onto more plates throughout the country.”
Leivers Brothers General Manager, Jon Leivers said: “We want to grow our business by being the best that we can and one way of doing this is by forming strategic relationships with companies that share our passion for product quality and ‘customer first’ values.
“Soanes Poultry were recommended to us by Caldecott Turkeys and we have been delighted with the quality and service we have received from them.
“As a wholesaler, we are in the middle, so if something goes wrong from our supplier end, we cannot deliver to our customers, but we know that we can rely on Soanes.”
Through Leivers Brothers, poultry reared in Yorkshire is supplied to outlets throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.
Leivers Brothers Ltd joined the Danish Crown Group March 2017. Foodservice has been part of Danish Crown’s business in the UK since 2014 and the business has succeeded in establishing a stable base in and around London and Manchester. With the acquisition of Leivers Brothers, this base has expanded into the Midlands.
