The Region’s largest and most respected Food and Drink awards are back for 2017 with a new look!

Far from being just home of the humble Yorkshire pudding, Yorkshire, with its diverse landscape and industry is now teaming with innovative and award winning food and drink businesses as well as an array of globally famous brands.

The Taste Awards run by Deliciouslyorkshire, The Regional Food Group for Yorkshire and the Humber are now in their 14th year and have grown to be the biggest celebration of the County’s food and drink industry.

Entries for this year’s awards open on Monday 10th July, with members and non-members from across the region being encouraged to get involved.

Judy Bell, Chairman of Deliciouslyorkshire and founder of Shepherds Purse Cheese said: “We’re really excited to launch this year’s awards with a fantastic new look!  The Taste Awards are our showcase event for the year and always turn up some fantastic new and innovative products which is always really exciting.

“In these testing times it’s become even more important to champion and support local producers and our Awards do just that.  Entering can be fantastic boost for businesses of all sizes, from the feedback on your business and products from our team of expert judges through to the publicity surrounding the shortlist and awards ceremony itself, I would encourage businesses of all shapes and sizes to get involved!  You’ve got to be in it to win it!”

A weeks judging will take place in September where a selection of chefs, food bloggers, retail experts and critics have the task of narrowing down hundreds of entries into this year’s shortlist and eventual winners.

“The awards have grown year on year since the start,” Judy continues, “and we’re always amazed by the quality of products and businesses that enter.  Yorkshire and the Humber have some of the best producers in the world, let alone the country and we really need to shout about them more.  The Taste Awards are a great way of doing this.”
