Award winning Mothers Day treat

With Mother’s Day upon us this weekend, why not treat the lady in your life to a quintessentially quaint afternoon tea in the beautiful surrounding of the Yorkshire Dales.

Jervaulx Abbey Tea Rooms, located between Masham and Leyburn are offering customers a special edition Mother’s Day version of their award winning afternoon tea this weekend to celebrate the special day.

Featuring a range of sandwiches, quiches, cakes and scones specially designed for the occasion, the family run tea room, who took home the Best Afternoon Tea accolade at last year’s Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards, pride themselves on using only locally sourced produce to create their popular menus.

Specialising in home baking the team use recipes from the traditional to the more quirky and the Mother’s Day menu is no exception with a white chocolate scone, a lemon meringue tartlet, raspberry macaroon cake and a posh jammy dodger all included!

Owned and run by the Burdon family who opened the Tea Room and Visitor Centre in 1994 to cater for an increasing number of visitors and enthusiasts exploring the local area, the business has undergone expansion in recent years opening a new section of the café and expanding the business to accommodate both a shop stocking local products and a bespoke cake business, Where the Ribbon Ends.
