The Chilli Jam Man heats up vegan friendly recipes

A North Yorkshire based chilli company have relaunched their range of award winning products with new and improved recipes – now suitable for vegan customers.

The Chilli Jam Man, who produce a range of chilli based products including jams, chocolates and even beer from their base near Malton, have been working on the developments over the last 2 years to make the products vegan friendly, whilst retaining the depth of flavour from the original recipes.

Owner Simon Barrett said, “We’ve traditionally used Thai Fish Sauce to bring that Umami flavour enhancing quality through in our products, but after trying numerous alternatives we’ve found a way to achieve this whilst keeping the ingredient list pure and simple.’

Simon, who received the Local Food Hero Award at the 2015 Deliciouslyorkshire Taste Awards continued; “the re-launch of our core range of Chilli Jams has also given us the opportunity to give ourselves a great new look as well and let customers know that not only are our Chilli Jams gluten free we’re now also vegan friendly too meaning that even more people can enjoy our products.”

The developments have come after busy period of growth and investment for the Chilli Jam Man team who have been investing in production facilities to keep up with increased demand.

The range of spicy goodies continues to grow and are now available to buy at farm shops and delis throughout the county, as well as online.  The company have also been adding to their list of Yorkshire collaborations which include everything from pork pies and sausages to a beer, made in partnership with York Brewery called Mostly Ghostly.  “Next on the agenda, says Simon, “is a range of bespoke sauces which we have just finished developing and are about to launch for the Huckleberry’s American Diner chain.  We are also continuing to supply other areas of the catering trade by supplying all of our creations in catering and bulk sizes alongside our table jars and bottles and it’s great to see this side of the business grow so rapidly”
