An East micro brewery is encouraging people to support local shops and markets when buying their Valentine’s Day gifts this year.
Wold Top Brewery sells over 30% of its award-winning bottled ales through farmers’ markets, farm shops and independent off licences and retailers within a 40 mile radius of its Wold Newton based brewery and is keen to promote the great work of the small businesses that support local economies.
Wold Top’s Gill Mellor said; “Last year we spent a staggering £880m on cards, flowers, chocolates and other gifts for Valentine’s Day. It would be good if some of that revenue could stay with the Yorkshire independent retailers that support us all so well.”
The brewery’s gift pack makes an ideal Valentine’s Day present as it contains the ruby red beer, Headland Red.
