Bullion Chocolate Launch New Factory Tours

A Sheffield based artisan chocolate producer are set to launch their brand new factory tours next month.

Bullion, Yorkshire’s first bean-to-bar craft chocolate maker, will give visitors a peek behind the scenes at their Kelham Island based chocolate factory as well as the opportunity to sample some of their award-winning range.

Founded in 2016 by Max Scotford, the tours will take visitors on a journey through the complex process of creating their small batch, bean-to-bar chocolate, from importing cacao from across the globe to crafting it into their single-origin bars.

As part of the new tours, Bullion’s expert guides will give visitors a taste of what goes into the time-honoured production method, as well as the opportunity to taste some of their ever-growing range, experiencing chocolate as it was always meant to be!

Once the tasting session is complete, it’s onto the café-bar and gift shop based in the Cutlery Works, just a 5 minute walk around the corner from the factory where they can enjoy a complimentary mug of delicious Ecuadorian drinking chocolate to complete the delicious experience.

Although only 5 years old, the South Yorkshire based company has enjoyed great success, working with the likes of Harvey Nichols, Fenwick’s and John Lewis and more recently collaborating with The Royal Mint as their official chocolate makers, which saw them produce a selection of chocolate bars containing edible gold leaf.

Max said: “The last 12 months have been really exciting for us with several new projects and products launching.  We’re now really looking forward to welcoming visitors into our factory and sharing our passion for chocolate and the process of how we create our range.

“There are a number of really complex and interesting steps that go into our chocolate and obviously there’ll be some tasting sessions included in each tour as well, so visitors get the full Bean-to-Bar experience!”

Tickets for the tour cost £15 per person and include sampling and a hot chocolate. For more information and to book online visit www.bullionchocolate.com
