Director of a family run grocer named amongst most inspiring

The Director of a family run grocer in Yorkshire has been named amongst a list of inspiring young people by The Grocer magazine.

Marcus Proudfoot, from G.W. Proudfoot Ltd, a family supermarket chain in Scarborough, was named as one of the 10 Young People working in food and grocery who inspired us in 2017 by the prestigious publication.

Established in Seamer Village, North Yorkshire in April 1948,  the award-winning independent supermarket chain, run five stores in total, situated around the Scarborough area in the Newby, Eastfield and Seamer districts.

Marcus, who currently looks after 180 employees across five branches of Proudfoot’s supermarket chain, is described as hugely passionate and driven as well as a highly capable project leader, with successes that include the recent redevelopment of a pub into the fifth new opening of 2016, with the store now showing excellent performance year on year.
