East Yorkshire brewery shortlisted in Northern Lights Awards

A Yorkshire coast brewery has been shortlisted for a prestigious award that highlights collaboration between companies in the Northern Powerhouse geographical area.

Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery has been shortlisted for the Export Company of the Year category of the Northern Lights Awards that will be announced during the forthcoming UK Northern Powerhouse Conference and Exhibition in Manchester. The other shortlisted businesses are multinational specialist in distributed power generation solutions, Clarke Energy and car giant, Nissan.

Kate Balchin, the brewery’s Export and Accounts Manager, said; “We’re very proud to be shortlisted, especially given the calibre of the other finalists. It just goes to show that, when it comes to collaboration, size and turnover doesn’t matter.”

The Awards will be judged by the UK Northern Powerhouse Advisory Board and celebrate business collaboration which ultimately leads to growing the Northern Powerhouse and helping to rebalance the economy.

Over 1000 guests are expected at the celebration dinner on the 21st February 2017. The awards will be presented by Lord Kerslake and comedian Brian Conley will provide the after dinner entertainment.

Farm-based Wold Top Brewery brews award winning beer using Wolds grown malting barley, hops and pure, chalk-filtered Wolds water. Its beer is available through the Wold Top website, independent and multiple retailers, farm shops, delis, hotels, pubs and off licences throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
