The team at a farm shop near Knaresborough are celebrating after receiving a prestigious award at the Farm Shop and Deli Awards last week.
Minskip Farm Shop were named winners of the Best Large Retailer in the North East at the annual event, which took place at the Birmingham NEC.
Run in partnership with The Grocer, the Farm Shop & Deli Retailer Awards, are highly respected in the industry for playing an important role in supporting and celebrating the UK’s independent, specialist retail market across nine regions and 10 categories.
This year’s awards focussed on recognising those retailers, and particularly those who play an important role in supporting and developing their team, with the judges looking for initiatives created to help retain, reward and empower staff.
Emma Mosey, who runs Minskip Farm Shop alongside husband Ben said: “We’re so thrilled to of received this prestigious award! A huge thank you must go to our amazing team for working so hard and really caring about what we do to reconnect people with their food and spread the joy on site. A big thank you to all our fantastic customers for supporting us too.”
Although Minskip has been operating for over 40 years, owners Emma and Ben took over the business in 2017 and have since expanded the farm shop to include a range of locally sourced and home grown produce, as well as creating Yolk Farm Kitchen, the world’s first egg restaurant based on a free range egg farm in 2020.
