The team at Yorkshire’s first single malt whisky distillery have released their latest bottling.
Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery based at Hunmanby have launched their new Cream Liqueur made from their single malt whisky, single malt spirit and dairy cream which will join their award winning range.
Made with 100% homegrown barley, the spirits are gently married together with the rich dairy cream to create a beautifully balanced and complex cream liqueur which has been designed to be enjoyed straight up, over ice and but can also be poured over ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
Co-Founder David Thompson said: “Here at Spirit of Yorkshire we respect tradition, but we also like to do things differently. Most cream liqueurs only use new make spirit, but ours marries fully matured whisky with our light and fruity new make spirit in equal measure. In addition, we’ve sourced the richest dairy cream with the highest butterfat content possible.”
“As soon as we tried this cream liqueur we were all blown away. The richness of the cream really suits the style of our single malt whisky and spirit. We can only imagine how great this will be at the end of a raucous dinner with friends… but until then we’re more than happy to enjoy it all to ourselves!”
Launched in 2016, the Distillery is a collaboration between farmer and brewer, Tom Mellor from Wold Top Brewery and business partner, David Thompson. As well as a range of award winning whiskies, the Distillery also run their popular tours alongside the Pot Still Coffee Shop from their base near Filey.
However, with events being unable to run over the past 12 months, the innovative team have created a programme of virtual online events including Distillery Tours and Whisky & Chocolate pairing sessions with fellow Yorkshire producer Bullion Chocolate which sees a tasting pack sent out a week before the event containing enough whisky and chocolate for two people to share and participate in the session.
The new Cream Liqueur is 20% ABV, costs £25.50 and is available in 70cl bottles from the distillery shop, online and from selected specialist retailers nationwide.
