Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil named as a best brand

Thixendale based artisan business, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil has cemented its popularity outside of its Yorkshire heartland as the results of the national Guild of Fine Food’s Best Brands Survey are revealed for 2017-18.

The company claimed fifth place in the best Oils and Vinegars category of the annual publication, having made the list for the fourth year in a row.

Published by Fine Food Digest, the Best Brands Survey showcases the best-selling lines and best tasting products as voted for by delis and speciality retailers throughout the UK.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil is the only producer of its kind from the north of England and the only rapeseed oil to feature in the Oils and Vinegars list.

Jennie Palmer, who runs the farm based business with her husband, Adam, said: “We are delighted to have made the list for oils and vinegars in the Guild’s annual Best Brands Survey.

“As we head into our tenth year of operating, it’s so important that we maintain our high standards and the quality that our customers and clients expect.

“This is a real boost for us as our extra virgin, cold pressed rapeseed oil is at the heart of all of our products, so to know that our oils are up there with the best in Britain is a huge compliment.”

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil was established in 2008 by the Palmers on their family farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds. Made from Wolds-grown rape, the oil is blended, bottled and labelled on the family farm and is available at independent retailers nationwide, online and at farmers markets throughout Yorkshire.
