Amos & Welsh was born of a mutual passion between me (Jack Amos) and my girlfriend (Ashley Welsh) for all things edible – particularly those that are baked! Having both graduated from the University of York in 2012 and flirted with professional careers we set our minds to re-establishing the family bakery business; and so our journey began.
Our aim: simple, to provide consumers with a genuinely handcrafted and freshly baked product made with honest, real ingredients.
But fantastic ingredients alone do not always lead to the desired outcome and so it is our continued commitment to become true artisan bakers by experience and knowledge – whether this be through studying and understanding the effects of enzyme and yeast activity to produce the baker’s holy grail, ‘the perfect sourdough’, or travelling to Italy to learn the art of making authentic foccacia bread.
Over the past two years we have established a mirco-bakery, the epicentre of our baking enterprise, from which we deliver our freshly baked products to surrounding villages.
